Your choice of clothing can make or break your visit to the Storey Arms. Mountain weather, even in summer, can be notoriously bad and some of the activities require extra-warm clothing. Be prepared for the worst!
Clothing to wear on the day
- trousers, leggings or tracksuit bottoms
(definitely NO jeans – they are too cold when they get wet) - 1 warm fleece jumper
- 1 t-shirt or thermal top
- 1 pair of thick socks
- training shoes (these will probably get wet!)
EXTRA clothing for the outdoors
- 1 spare warm fleece jumper
- waterproof top & bottoms (if you have them)
- sun hat / baseball cap
- warm hat and gloves
- wellington boots (if you have them)
Specialist Equipment
- The centre will provide all the specialist equipment that you may need. This includes waterproof clothing and boots (if you don’t have your own).
Additional Items
- full change of clothes to travel home (including shoes & underwear)
- packed lunch (in a box) and hot drink (in a flask)
- cold drink (optional)
- any medication that you need
- 1 towel
- toiletries
- large polythene bag or old carrier bags (for wet clothing)
- sun cream (minimum factor 30)
